We’re delighted to invite you and your friends to a free concert featuring the McKenna Family Five string quintet and Cuarteto Chroma at the Robert Bateman Centre on June 17 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. The Centre is once again generously hosting a free concert ahead of our evening ticketed series
Both award winning ensembles travelled to Victoria for the Lafayette String Quartet’s prestigious Quartet Fest West chamber music workshop.
The Mexican string quartet Chroma is assisting the Lafayettes
They were the top prize winners at the National String Quartet Competition “La Superior” (2017) in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; the Manuel M. Ponce prize at the Festival de Música de Cámara of Aguascalientes, Mexico; and the first prize at the Mateo Oliva National Chamber Music Competition.
Some of you had the good fortune to hear the delightful young McKenna Family Five string quintet. They’ve again travelled from Alberta as return participants.
This is a great opportunity to hear beautiful music in the galleries located in the historic Steamship Terminal building on Victoria’s inner harbour.
